What happens when a lifelong secret can no longer remain buried?
In her solo show TRICH, Becca Schneider shares her deeply personal story of growing up with trichotillomania – hair-pulling disorder – a condition that affects millions but is rarely revealed. Told with warmth, humor, and radical honesty, Becca traces her decades-long journey through isolation, shame, and recovery, exploring what it means to feel out of control in one’s body and what can happen when silence ends and connection begins.
TRICH first captivated audiences as the top-selling play at the 2021 United Solo Theatre Festival in NYC, garnering both the Best Actress and Audience Choice Awards. It has since gone on to multiple sold-out regional runs along the East Coast, including two productions at Luna Stage, where it was named one of the top New Jersey shows of 2023 by NJArts, prompting a three-week encore the following year. You can learn more about the full production history here.
Beyond the stage, TRICH has also become an advocacy tool, performing at mental health conferences, including a keynote appearance at the 2025 National Alliance on Mental Illness Pennsylvania State Conference plus the 2024 TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors Conference in Washington, D.C.
Turns out, what you think isolates you the most is actually the path toward deeper connection.
