We're thrilled to share that four leaders in the Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior (BFRB) community will be joining Becca onstage for a special talkback panel following the Sunday, December 3 performance at Luna Stage.
Our guests Ellen Crupi, Marla Deibler, Libby Gordon, and Samantha Adler work to connect with, raise awareness, and create resources for those still learning to manage their BFRBs. You can learn more about our wonderful participants below.
All audience members are welcome to stay for the post-show conversation and Q&A. There will be a brief break when the show concludes around 4:20pm, and the talkback will begin at 4:30pm. We hope to see you there! Get your tickets here.
Ellen Crupi | HabitAware
Ellen Crupi is the Director of Awareness at HabitAware and in trichotillomania recovery. HabitAware helps people overcome compulsive behaviors with our smart bracelet, Keen and Keen2. Ellen educates and coaches those living with these disorders, professionals treating these disorders, and schools helping students with these issues. Ellen is passionate about healthy living, exercise, and really good coffee.
Marla Deibler | The Center for Emotional Health
Marla Deibler, PsyD, ABPP is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Board-Certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology, and Founder/Executive Director of The Center for Emotional Health of Greater Philadelphia, an outpatient multi-site, behavioral healthcare center serving over 40 states across the US specializing in the evaluation and evidence-based treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Deibler serves on the Faculty of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) of the International OCD Foundation. She serves as President of the Board of Directors of OCD NJ, the NJ affiliate of the IOCDF, Consultant for the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome, Visiting Clinical Supervisor at the Rutgers University Psychological Services Clinic, and Executive Council member of the ACBS OCD SIG. She is a co-author of The BFRB Recovery Workbook: Effective Recovery From Hair Pulling, Skin Picking, Nail Biting, and Other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors.
Libby Gordon | The BFRB Space
Libby Gordon, LCSW is the founder and primary therapist at the BFRB Space, a treatment center in NYC specializing in all things BFRBs. As both a provider and a sufferer, Libby believes we all do something to cope in our stressful world, and we don’t have to let those things hold us back. Libby helps BFRBers recover by developing an individualized process to achieve their goals. She draws upon experience from the TLC Foundation for BFRBs, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, and Fountain House, along with several trainings in the ComB Model for BFRBs, Habit Reversal Training, Motivational Interviewing, coaching, executive function, and Cognitive Behavioral modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT — all to craft an individualized plan to help BFRBers recover and live a life worth living!
Samantha Adler | NYC TLC Support Group Administrator
Samantha Adler is currently an Operations and Training consultant for organizations that offer mediation, conflict resolution, and negotiation services. Samantha earned her B.A. in Political Science at the University of Delaware. She then earned her M.S. at New York University studying Global Affairs and concentrating in human rights, international law, and conflict resolution. She has had trichotillomania since she was eleven years old, has been a member of the NYC TLC support group for over fifteen years, and has been the administrator of the group for the last ten years.
